US Patent and Trademark Office Closed
The United States Patent and Trademark Office is closed today, January 26, 2026, due to the severe weather in and around Washington, D.C.
This is the second separate weather-related closure of the Office this year, and the third closure in the last thirty-odd days. I don’t remember the Patent and Trademark Office closing this much in past years, but this winter has been especially tough on the East Coast. We wish the best to friends, family, and all others out there from here in Arizona.
As usual, when the Patent Office is closed, filing deadlines push to the next ordinary business day. If the Office closes on Tuesday, as I suspect it will, deadlines will roll another day to Wednesday the 28th.
